Dear reader, customer, friend,
this is the place where I will - from time to time only - tell you some news about me and/or my work. I have specifically decided not to be part of any other social media. I find they consume far too much of my time and energy.
As usual, you are welcome to comment on what I write.
I still can't believe it! This was my first stall all on my own at a Country Living Magazine Fair and I won The Editor's Choice Award for the best stall.
Here's what the CL News had to say about my stall and their decision:
Editor's Choice Award
Country Living’s editorial team, following very careful consideration chose Treutmade from Cornwall, for the coveted Editor’s Choice Award.
Proud owner, Gertie, creates a unique line of products restyling vintage fabric and materials into modern use. On offer were a range of embroidered items (above and below) incorporating patterns including roses, Celtic designs, bohemian inspirations and old samplers, all using natural materials.
Treutmade stocks everything to get you ready for everything from a trip away to a great night out from handmade wash bags and jewellery rolls to vintage beaded bags.
Gertie also creates unique handmade cushions in a variety of sizes using hand-knitted and hand-crocheted wool, original Suffolk Puffs – scraps of material originally used to make quilts and later toys and homewares – from the 1920s and 1930s and patchwork from vintage fabrics.
Adding to the festivity at the fair, Treutmade also had a selection of handmade Christmas decorations from elegant crystal droplets to old fashioned baubles on display.
Entrepreneur Gertie has enjoyed crafting with wool and fabric from a young age. Back in 2008 she came to our Country Living Christmas Fair in London as a visitor and then in 2009 some of her products featured on a friend’s stall. As her experience of trade shows and fairs has increased and her confidence grown, it was deemed she was the perfect choice for this year’s title.
You can view Gertie’s carefully crafted pieces on her website or visit her at various fairs. Details on her website: Treutmade. ..."
I want to say "Thank you" to all the lovely customers who came to my stall.
I'll be back in a while with some more news.
